Renovations Recap – Week 2

By Posted in - Building Renovation on April 4th, 2013 1 Comments

We’re another week into the renovations in the new building and we thought you may like an update on what’s been going on. The word of the week is DEMO. As we try to make room for our new staircase many things had to come out. The biggest thing was the loft area that was removed. We are keeping part of it as a land for the new staircase, however a large portion of it  needed to be removed. We are also changing the location of the staircase. So we made a trip to Menards and fit some 16′ long boards in the back of our 7ft’ long pickup truck bed (yeah that was fun, but they made it to Huntington just fine!). New stair stringers have been cut and the new staircase will be going in within the week.

We also exposed some of the original hardwood flooring. The plan is to refinish it, and by what we’ve exposed it looks like it’s going to be very pretty. We’re getting closer folks! Here are a few photo’s to show the process over the past week.

Looking very nice. We are sure that you are excited to finish and open again. Rehabbing a historic building is time consuming but very rewarding once completed. We wish you the best and look forward to coming down to see your new/old building. Keep the faith, it will be worth the work. 🙂
